MA Brewers Guild Fest Tomorrow! Bonus Contest!

Tomorrow evening, join 38 of your favorite Massachusetts breweries and brewing companies on the concourse of the Seaport World Trade Center for the 4th Annual Massachusetts Brewers Guild Festival. This will be the 3rd year in a row we have attended, and let us tell you it is seriously one of the greatest festivals on the calendar each year.

The past two years has been amazing weather. Paired with some incredible beer, friendly faces, smaller crowds than you're probably used to, and one killer backdrop, this is an amazing event. When you pair all of those features, not to mention absolutely gorgeous weather (slated to be high 70's at the beginning of the fest, for at least the 3rd year in a row), you can not beat this event.

The $35 tickets sold quickly, but there are still tickets left. However, we have been given a pair of tickets to give away.

What:  The Massachusetts Brewers Guild is hosting its fourth annual Mass Brewers Fest on Friday, August 30^th, bringing together Massachusetts beer lovers and brewers to celebrate local craft beer!  Featuring more than 100 different beers from 30+ member breweries in the Massachusetts Brewers Guild, the Mass Brewers Guild Fest provides an excellent opportunity for craft beer lovers to sample local favorites, as well as some specialty beers brewed exclusively for this festival.

What’s New this Year?:  On August 2^nd,  brewers of the Mass Brewers Guild came together at Mayflower Brewing Company to collectively brew a first of its kind collaboration beer.  The limited release beer, a cask English Mild, will be unveiled at this year’s Fest, but will have a unique twist.  Each brewer will have given the base beer their own special touch – adding a favorite hop, signature ingredient, aging the beer in barrels, etc. – showcasing the brewer’s art and creativity in each cask & ready to be tasted at the Fest.

Where:  The event will take place at World Trade Center Head House Concourse, located at 200 Seaport Boulevard, Boston, a beautiful indoor/outdoor venue on Boston's historic waterfront.

When:  The Fest will begin at 6:00 pm on Friday, August 30^th

Cost:  Tickets are $40, with beer samples included. Mohegan Sun BrewFest Update

For some reason, I swore this weekend was the weekend of the Mohegan Sun BrewFest. Why, I have no idea...but, I quickly came to realize that it is in fact next weekend. Therefore, the ticket giveaway has been extended to NEXT Wednesday October 3rd.

Sun BrewFest at Mohegan Sun

For our friends down in Southern New England, or those just looking for another reason to hit one of the region's premier resort casinos, Mohegan Sun is proud to announce their first ever Sun BrewFest. The event will take place October 6th and 7th with three sessions offering up over 100 different samples from many great craft breweries, domestics, imports, limited editions, malt liquors, and more!

Here are some key details:

Session 1: Saturday October 6th from 12-4pm featuring live music from Radio Giant
Session 2: Saturday October 6th from 6-10pm featuring live music from Timmy Maia Band
Session 3: Sunday October 7th from 12-4pm featuring live music from Latanya Farrell Band

Tickets to all session are just $20, which you can purchase here, and includes admission to one session and a souvenir tasting glass for samples. You can also get a scorecard to keep track of your favorite beers throughout the session(s).

Contest #Fail

Last week we posted details on the Redhook Ale Brewery "Redhook Fest 2012" on how we were going to give away two pair of tickets. We wanted users of Instagram to take a picture of their favorite Redhook Ale beer with the hashtag #brewengland...but, to no avail as we received zero entries. I'm not sure why, but it happens.

SO, instead of going the uber social media way, we're just going to go extremely simple...

IF you live in (or will be visiting) New England, and IF you can definitely make the Redhook Fest next Saturday August 18th, email us ASAP at brewengland@gmail.com and you will earn yourself a pair of tickets. It's as simple as that. First come, first serve. We have two sets of tickets to give away, so get on this quickly!

Redhook Fest Ticket Contest

As we indicated last week, we have TWO pair of tickes to the upcoming Redhook Festival taking place on Saturday August 18th at the Redhook Ale Brewery in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

In its 16th season, the Redhook Ale Festival plays host to thousands of thirsty beer geeks and music lovers, for a fun filled summer day. This year, the music kicks off at 2:30pm with opening bands Dusty Gray, Ryan Montbleau Band, and The Brew, with headlining act moe. closing out the concert. There will be Redhook beer for sale, as well as some tasty treats from several local restaurants. Tickets to the event are just $25 if purchased in advanced, or $30 at the door (very serious sell out risk, we've been told).

However, you can win a pair of tickets right here! Here's how to enter:

Starting right now, and ending at 11:59PM this Sunday August 5th, take a picture with you and your favorite Redhook Ale Brewery beer and post it on Instagram. Included in your posting must have the hashtag #BrewEngland. You can also leave a comment here under this posting, as well as on Twitter and tweet @BrewEngland so we see your photo!! The two people with the best pictures will receive one pair of tickets each.

The tickets will need to be mailed via USPS or UPS, so please be ready to email us your address.

16th Annual Redhook Festival

I could have sworn we posted this back in May, but nothing really comes as a surprise these days. We get a lot of press releases, and it's neat to share them with you when we can, but sometimes they slip though the cracks. Nevertheless, the Redhook Ale Brewery in Portsmouth, NH is hosting the 16th Annual Redhook Festival. Featured are great food, beer, and music, with this year's musical headliner moe.

I'd first like to thank those who posted comments for the ticket giveaway. Everyone had great reasons they should win, but unfortunately there could only be one winner. So after reading all the stories of who should win the tickets to the New Hampshire BrewFest, I have decided to award the tickets to...

Portsmouth, NH is a great city to visit, and no one should have the prominent memory of having piss dumped on them. I hope you're able to erase (or ease) the memory of that fateful day by enjoying many a tasty brew this weekend at the Redhook Ale Brewery.

I have to say though, it was a tough decision as everyone had great reasons for wanting the tickets, and I'll have to reconsider how I pick winners, because let me tell you...drawing a number is a much easier decision.

Contest: NH BrewFest at Redhook

As announced last week, Redhook Ale Brewery in Portsmouth, NH is the host for the 3rd Annual NH BrewFest on Saturday October 15th, and we have a pair of VIP Session Tickets to give away!

Just a quick reminder about the finer points to the festival overall:

- VIP Session 1 gets you in at 12pm, an hour before the general public

There will be food, music, activities, and of course lots of fresh Blue Hills Brewery beer for you to sample! Tickets are only $12 and can be purchased online here. Tickets will also be available at the door, but are $15. The Irish Culture Center is located at 200 New Boston Road Canton, MA. Tickets are limited, so it's recommended that you purchase them online ahead of time! Drink tickets are rumored to be around $5 each.

Explore Your Craft with Widmer Bro's & Draft Magazine

A few weeks ago I received an email from the folks putting on the Explore Your Craft Tour, asking if I would like to help spread the word about one of their upcoming events. After taking a look at the event page, and it looks like it's going to be a great event! Widmer Brothers and Draft Magazine have teamed up for several events, and will be going on tour to Boston, San Francisco, Orlando, and Seattle.

So here are the details...

When: Saturday July 16th, 2011 from 6-9pm
Where: The Estate - 1 Boylston Place (the Alley) Boston, MA

There will be live artist demonstrations and live music alongside an interactive art experience for those in attendance. Additionally, the co-founder of Widmer Brothers, Kurt Widmer, will be on hand to mingle with guests.

Tickets are $75 and includes beer samples, entertainment, a souvenir glass, and an event guide with a beer diary. Local chefs will be creating perfect food to pair with the beer, and local artisan cheese experts will be at different stations with different pairings of cheese and beer.
